[CBC뉴스] 브라질의 오토바이 운전자 앙드레 베리시모는 거북이와 토끼에 대한 이야기를 전혀 듣지 못했나봅니다.
지난 20일 베리시모는 브라질 고이아니아에서 열린 아이르톤 세나 인터내셔널 오토드롬의 마지막 바퀴까지 선두를 질주했습니다.
슈퍼바이크 에볼루션 경주 결승선을 바로 앞에두고 그만 너무 빠른 세레모니를 했습니다.
베리시모가 방심한 사이 Osvaldo J. Filho와 Marcelo Skaf에게 추월당했습니다. 하지만 일요일 경주에서 패배했음에도 불구하고 베리시모는 챔피언 타이틀을 거머쥐며 슈퍼바이크 에볼루션 시즌을 마감했습니다.
Perhaps Brazilian motorcyclist Andre Verissimo never heard the story of the tortoise and the hare, but he learned his lesson the hard way on Sunday (December 20) when his early celebration quickly turned into defeat.
Verissimo rounded the final curve of the Ayrton Senna International Autodrome in Goiania, Brazil clearly ahead in the Superbike Evolution race and just seconds from winning.
But the overconfident motorcyclist celebrated too soon, and was overtaken by both Osvaldo J. Filho, (also known as the Duende) and Marcelo Skaf.
Despite his defeat in Sunday's race Verissimo ended the Superbike Evolution season with the champion's title.
