윤여정, 재치로 ‘영국’ 뒤집다(feat. 英여왕 일대기)

[CBC뉴스] 최근 배우 윤여정이 전세계 영화 시상식에서 상을 휩쓸며 전 세계인의 이목을 사로잡고 있다. 그중 특히 윤여정이 지난 11일(현지시간) 영국 아카데미상 수상 당시 남겼던 수상소감이 많은 이들에게 감명 깊게 남았다. 

윤여정은 “고상한 척한다고 알려진 영국 사람들에게 이 상을 받아 기쁘다”고 말해 위트 넘치는 배우로 전 세계인에 각인됐다. 윤여정의 이같은 재치 있는 발언은 “영국은 오랜 역사를 가지고 있고 자부심이 있다.”는 표현과 어우러져 더 빛을 발한 것으로 보인다.

윤여정은 '수상소감 상도 주자'라는 말을 들을 정도로 세계를 들썩이게 했다.  

윤여정의 진가를 먼저 인정한 영국은 오랜 역사와 자부심을 지닌 나라이다. 그 영국에서 오랜 세월 국민들로부터 존경의 대상으로 살아온 엘리자베스 2세 여왕. 최근 부군 필립공이 영면에 들자 애도를 표한 바 있다.  

위 영상은 엘리자베스 2세 영국 여왕의 대관식부터 최근에 일어난 일들까지 그녀의 일대기를 담은 영상이다. 그녀가 걸어온 발자취를 다시 보면 세계의 현대사가 담겨 있다. 영국 여왕의 발자취를 통해 역사를 되짚어보자.

Britain's Queen Elizabeth, the world's oldest monarch, turns 95 on Wednesday (21 April), but there were no public celebrations of an occasion that comes just days after she bade a sad farewell to her husband of seven decades at his funeral.

Prince Philip, whom Elizabeth married in 1947, died on April 9 at the age of 99. The royals paid their final respects to the family's patriarch at his funeral on Saturday at Windsor Castle.

Because of COVID-19 restrictions, the queen sat alone during the somber service for Philip, who she had described as her "strength and stay."

Elizabeth, who is also the world's longest-reigning monarch, was at the castle for her birthday, which traditionally passes off with little or no ceremony.

However this year, with the royals marking two weeks of mourning, it passed off with even less public show: there was no gun salutes at the Tower of London nor the capital's Hyde park which usually occur on the queen's birthday.

The queen also has an official birthday, which is usually celebrated with greater pomp on the second Saturday in June.
