정영주는 고등학교 때 반장이었는데 선생님 체벌로 청력의 일부를 잃게 됐다고 전했다. 좌중은 정영주의 말에 놀란 표정을 지었다. 선생님이 휘두른 주전자로 인해 고막이 찢어졌다는 이야기이다. 

정영주는 최근 종영한 선재 업고 튀어에서 스토리의 중요한 매개가 되는 비디오집의 사장으로 나온다. 청소년 불가 비디오로 인해 티격태격하면서 변우석네와 인연이 되기도 한다. 

정영주는 김혜윤의 극중 엄마로 나와 츤데레 사랑의 대표적인 모습을 보여준다.
