"Ichiha" and "Popo" are two red pandas who have become the novelty of a Chilean zoo hosting them as part of a conservation project for their endangered species.
Although the animals arrived in March from the Nifrel zoo in the Japanese city of Osaka, they had not been able to be introduced to the public due to the lockdown caused by the coronavirus pandemic, which arrived in the South American country that same month.
The six-year-old red pandas are at full reproductive age, increasing the hopes of achieving offspring that will help maintain their species.
The zoo built two enclosures to meet their requirements such as the need for indoor and outdoor space with temperature control for the animals who are very sensitive to heat.
