Andalusia's government activated their emergency plan against flood risk on Friday (January 8) due to severe rainfall in the southern city of Malaga.
On Wednesday (January 6) Spain registered the lowest temperature ever recorded on the Iberian peninsula, of -34.1C, in the Pyrenees in the north.
According to local news, at least thirty incidents were registered locally, with no injuries or fatalities reported.
Most of the events took place on the coastline of the city, as the strong winds battered trees, destroyed public Christmas decorations and smashed windows.
Storm Filomena is expected to travel outside southern Spanish territory by Saturday (January 9).
