Armed with a microscope, some carving tools and a pencil, an Egyptian artist carves pharanoic statues into tiny tips of pencils.
Inspired by a Taiwanese artist who creates similar work, 28-year-old Ibrahim Bilal decided to use this medium to highlight Egyptian history in a unique way.
"Art must be based on an idea, so I have to discuss a specific idea or a send a specific message though my work," he said. "I thought Egyptian heritage is the best thing to preserve through this kind of sculpting. When I started posting my pharaonic works, the reaction was unbelievable."
The artist, who graduated from law school, markets his work on social media platforms and runs an educational channel on YouTube where he shows his techniques.
Bilal is planning to organise an exhibition soon where he can sell his 22 works of art.
